How to Configure I-Phone for Email

To set up an email account on your iPhone (instructions are based on the iPhone 3GS, other models may vary):
- From Dashboard, select Settings
- Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
- Select Add Account...
- Select Other
- From Mail, select Add Mail Account
- Enter the mail account information:
- Name: the
name of the mailbox user - John Doe
- Address: your mailbox address - example@mydomain.com
- Password: the password for your mailbox - mypassword
- Description: a short description of your mail account, so that you can identify it later, should you wish to change settings
- Name: the
name of the mailbox user - John Doe
- Press Save
- At the top of the screen select IMAP
- Enter the Incoming Mail Server details:
- Host Name: pop.mydomain.com (where mydomain.com is your domain, for example, pop.FlowersByLisa.info)
- User Name: your mailbox address - example@mydomain.com
- Password: the password for the above mail address (should be prefilled)
- Enter the Outgoing Mail Server details:
- Host Name: the mail server address –smtp.mydomain.com (where mydomain.com is your domain, for example, smtp.FlowersByLisa.info)
- User Name: the mailbox address – example@mydomain.com
- Password: the password for your mailbox - mypassword
- Press Save
- You may get the following message :
“The certificate for “SMTP:example@mydomain.com@smtp.mydomain.com” may not be validated” - Choose Continue
- If you get a message that a secure connection cannot be established, choose to continue
- SSL should be set to OFF (this is a default setting)
- The ports will be configured automatically during the connection process, however, if you wish to configure the ports yourself please call for support.
